Role of Percutaneous Deep Venous Arterialization for Patients with Chronic Limb-threatening Ischemia

چکیده

Efficacy of percutaneous deep venous arterialization (pDVA) has been reported for patients with no-option chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI). In the countries where a manufactured device dedicated pDVA not reimbursed, using off-the-shelf technique alternatively spread. The techniques arteriovenous fistula (AVF) creation are as follows: AV spear technique, simplified (VAST), and use penetration guidewire or reentry device. Technical success rates procedures similar to those could be last resort CLTI, including suffering from stump ulcer after major limb amputation occluded surgical bypass.

Early results from an angiosome-directed open surgical technique for venous arterialization in patients with critical lower limb ischemia

BACKGROUND Patients with critical lower limb ischemia without patent pedal arteries cannot be treated by the conventional arterial reconstruction. Venous arterialization has been suggested to improve limb salvage in this subgroup of patients but has not gained wide acceptance. We report our early experience after implementing deep and superficial venous arterialization of the lower limb. MATE...

Enhanced cell therapy strategy to treat chronic limb-threatening ischemia.

Intermittent programmed compression of the chronically ischemic limb is associated with arteriogenesis. However, progenitor cell elements contributing to this neovascularization are typically diminished in number and function in the elderly dysvascular patient, particularly in the presence of diabetes, renal insufficiency, and cardiac disease. Granulocyte-colony stimulation factor (G-CSF) drama...

Chronic limb-threatening ischemia could benefit from growth hormone therapy for wound healing and limb salvage

Revascularization for chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) is necessary to alleviate symptoms and wound healing. When it fails or is not possible, there are few alternatives to avoid limb amputation in these patients. Although experimental studies with stem cells and growth factors have shown promise, clinical trials have demonstrated inconsistent results because CLTI patients generally nee...

RE: Percutaneous Angioplasty in Diabetic Patients with Critical Limb Ischemia

Dear Sir, We read the article entitled “Endovascular Revascularization for Patients with Critical Limb Ischemia: Impact on Wound Healing and Long Term Clinical Results in 189 Limbs” by Bae et al. (1), as published in Korean J Radiol (2013;14:430-438), with a great interest. This article may provide a useful guide for radiologists. In the paper, authors made a retrospective study on 189 limbs wi...

Percutaneous Intervention of Chronic Total Occlusion in Critical Limb Ischemia

Chronic critical limb ischemia (CLI) represents the extreme spectrum of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), accounting for about 1% to 3% of all PAD patients. CLI manifests as ischemic rest pain, gangrene and/or ulceration. CLI is considered chronic when symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks. It occurs when skin perfusion pressure at the affected site is reduced to a degree such that tissues’ r...
